Butler had 17 points (4-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 9-11 FT), six rebounds, six assists and three steals over 42 minutes during Wednesday's 121-110 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Although the Warriors lost Stephen Curry (hamstring) at the beginning of this series, Butler wasn't able to prevent the Timberwolves from winning four straight games to eliminate Golden State. Butler had his struggles in this series, shooting 43.0 percent from the field with a low usage rate, all things considered. Butler will be 36 years old on Opening Night in 2025-26, and his fantasy upside is likely to be limited again as the presumed No. 2 option on offense behind Curry. In 30 regular-season appearances, Butler produced 17.9 points, 5.9 assists, 5.5 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 0.6 three-pointers in 32.7 minutes per game.

Jimmy Butler Latest News
Notches 17 points

Modest effort in Game 4 loss

Butler ended Monday's 117-110 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 14 points (5-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one block across 34 minutes. Butler fell short of the mark, unable to lift the Warriors to victory. Golden State has now lost three straight games and face the prospect of elimination in Game 5. Stephen Curry remains questionable due to a hamstring injury but should he be unable to play, Butler will need to do more on both ends of the floor in the hopes of extending the series.
Goes for 33 points in Game 3 loss

Butler notched 33 points (12-26 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 7-9 FT), seven rebounds and seven assists in 43 minutes during Saturday's 102-97 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Butler was the dominant force the Warriors needed to have a chance at securing their second win in the series, but his elite stat line wasn't enough, even though he ended just three boards and three assists away from a triple-double. Butler has unsurprisingly emerged as the Warriors' most reliable offensive weapon in the absence of Stephen Curry (hamstring). He's averaging 23.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.0 steals per game in the series.
Stuffs stat sheet in Game 2

Butler supplied 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and one steal over 34 minutes during Thursday's 117-93 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Butler should be the Warriors' go-to option on offense while Stephen Curry (hamstring) is sidelined. While he did a good job in Game 2, more should be expected of him. Without including Game 2 of the series against Houston in which he departed after eight minutes due to a pelvic injury, this was just the second time Butler didn't reach the 20-point mark in the current postseason run.
Sniffs triple-double

Butler produced 20 points (7-20 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 11 rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 41 minutes during Tuesday's 99-88 win over the Timberwolves in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Butler was one of several Golden State players who stepped up following the exit of Stephen Curry (hamstring), and the veteran forward carried the team offensively while ending just two boards shy of a triple-double. Butler should operate as the Warriors' go-to option on offense going forward as long as Curry remains out. He's perfectly comfortable in that role, and the numbers back him up since he's scored at least 20 points in four of his previous five playoff appearances.
Thrives at charity stripe

Butler accumulated 27 points (7-17 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 12-14 FT), nine rebounds, eight assists and one block over 42 minutes during Friday's 115-107 loss to the Rockets in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Butler has been an inconsistent scorer all series, tallying at least 25 points three times but failing to score double-digit points twice. In his five appearances this playoffs against Houston, the star forward is averaging 18.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.4 steals in 31.4 minutes on 45.0/23.1/84.6 shooting splits.
Ready to play for Game 5

Butler (pelvis) will play in Wednesday's Game 5 against the Rockets, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports. Head coach Steve Kerr notes that Butler is likely still in pain due to the pelvic contusion he sustained in last Wednesday's Game 2 loss to Houston, but that didn't stop the star forward from logging 40 minutes in Monday's Game 4 victory. Over his three postseason appearances this year, Butler has averaged 18.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.7 three-pointers in 30.0 minutes while shooting 50.0 percent from deep. Butler should be able to handle a full workload Wednesday.
Likely to play Wednesday

Butler (pelvis) is listed as probable for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Rockets. Butler is expected to suit up as the Warriors attempt to close out their first-round series against Houston on Wednesday. The star forward sustained the pelvic contusion after playing only eight minutes in last Wednesday's Game 2 loss and subsequently missed Saturday's Game 3 victory. However, Butler played 40 minutes in Monday's Game 4 win, posting 27 points (7-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 12-12 FT), six assists, five rebounds and one block.
Leads Dubs to win in return

Butler logged 27 points (7-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 12-12 FT), five rebounds, six assists and one block across 40 minutes during Monday's 109-106 victory over the Rockets in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. After missing most of Game 2 and sitting out Game 3 due to a pelvic contusion, Butler demonstrated that he was healthy by leading the Warriors in scoring in his return while also tying Brandin Podziemski for the team lead in court time. Playoff Jimmy was in full effect down the stretch in the fourth quarter, as he scored Golden State's last seven points while also grabbing a key rebound with four seconds left. Butler has scored at least 25 points in each of his two full games this postseason, and he's likely to come up big again Wednesday in Game 5 as the Warriors try to punch their tickets to the second round.
