The Red Sox selected Stock's contract Saturday. Stock has appeared in one game for the Red Sox this season but was designated for assignment shortly thereafter. He's back in the majors and should serve as bullpen depth.
Outrighted to Triple-A
Stock cleared waivers Thursday and was sent outright to Triple-A Worcester, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports. After being selected to the active roster Monday and pitching two innings out of the bullpen for the Red Sox, Stock was DFA'd by the club Tuesday. The 35-year-old will officially remain within the organization now that he's cleared waivers and will continue to serve as depth for the WooSox.

The right-hander was selected to Boston's 40-man roster and pitched against the Blue Jays on Monday, giving up one run on three hits and a walk over two innings. Stock could return to Triple-A Worcester if he passes through waivers unclaimed.
Called up to majors
The Red Sox selected Stock's contract from Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports. Stock will provide the bullpen with some length following Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals. The 35-year-old made one start and one relief appearance at Worcester, tossing 8.1 scoreless frames with a 12:3 K:BB. Stock has not made an appearance at the big-league level since 2021.
Signs with Boston as NRI
The Red Sox signed Stock to a minor-league contract Tuesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. Stock most recently pitched in the Mexican Pacific Winter League, posting a 1.60 ERA and 78:37 K:BB over 84.1 innings. The 35-year-old last saw action in the majors back in 2021 and is a long shot to capture an Opening Day roster spot. It's not clear whether the Red Sox plan to use Stock as a starting pitcher or reliever.
