The Angels outrighted Toussaint to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday. Toussaint cleared waivers after being removed from the Angels' 40-man roster, and he appears set to remain in the organization rather than testing out free agency. The righty yielded two runs over two innings in his lone relief appearance for the Halos on Sunday before being designated for assignment.

Outrighted to Triple-A

The Angels outrighted Toussaint to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday. Toussaint cleared waivers after being removed from the Angels' 40-man roster, and he appears set to remain in the organization rather than testing out free agency. The righty yielded two runs over two innings in his lone relief appearance for the Halos on Sunday before being designated for assignment.
DFA'd by Halos

The Angels designated Toussaint for assignment Tuesday. Toussaint made a bullpen appearance for the Angels on Sunday against the Tigers, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out three over two innings. The 28-year-old will go on waivers and could be claimed by a team looking to bolster its bullpen depth. Toussaint has a 5.32 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 19:14 K:BB across 22 innings in Triple-A this season.
Promoted to majors

The Angels selected Toussaint's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday. Toussaint signed a minor-league contract with the Angels in late March. He has spent the entire season in Triple-A, where he has posted a 5.32 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 19:14 K:BB across 22 innings. The call-ups of Toussaint and Michael Darrell-Hicks will replenish the Halos' bullpen after Jake Eder was optioned to Triple-A and Garrett McDaniels (biceps) was placed on the 15-day injured list.
Goes to Halos on MiLB deal

The Angels signed Toussaint to a minor-league contract March 21. Toussaint split last season between the the majors with the White Sox and Triple-A Charlotte, holding a 7.43 ERA in 11 relief appearances at the big-league level. The 28-year-old was with the Angels for part of the 2022 campaign and will give them swingman depth at Triple-A Salt Lake.
Clears waivers

Toussaint cleared waivers Thursday and was sent outright to Triple-A Charlotte, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports. Toussaint was dropped from Chicago's 40-man roster Tuesday after accumulating a 7.43 ERA and 2.30 WHIP across 23 innings with the big-league squad. He'll remain with the organization as minor-league bullpen depth, though his chances of making it back to the majors before the end of the year are slim.
Exits 40-man roster

The White Sox designated Toussaint for assignment Tuesday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports. Toussaint was touched up for four runs over 2.2 innings and 68 pitches in Monday's loss to the Orioles. He wasn't going to be available for at least a day or two, so the White Sox will replace him with a fresh relief arm.
Back with big club

The White Sox selected Toussaint's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday. Toussaint was removed from the 40-man roster just before Opening Day but is back in the big leagues after delivering a 5.15 ERA and 49:39 K:BB over 50.2 innings in 17 appearances (eight starts) with Charlotte. He could make some starts and/or fill a long-relief role with Chicago.
Outrighted to Triple-A

The White Sox outrighted Toussaint to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Toussaint is no longer on the 40-man roster but will remain in the organization after clearing waivers. The right-hander will probably open the season in Charlotte's rotation.
Dropped from 40-man roster

The White Sox designated Toussaint for assignment Sunday. Toussaint's removal from the 40-man roster opens up a spot for outfielder Kevin Pillar, who was re-signed Sunday to a one-year deal. Perhaps more significantly, the roster move also opens up a spot in the rotation for rookie Nick Nastrini, who now looks in position to replace Toussaint as the White Sox's No. 5 starter to begin the season. Toussaint made bats miss at a solid clip upon joining the White Sox last June as a waiver-wire pickup from the Guardians, but command remained a concern for the right-hander, which has been a familiar refrain throughout his career. It was especially true during spring training, as Toussaint had posted a 12.91 ERA, 2.74 WHIP and an ugly 2:11 K:BB across 7.2 frames during Cactus League play.
