Bello allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 6.1 innings in a no-decision against Tampa Bay on Monday. Bello got through three scoreless frames before giving up a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth. One of those runs was unearned, so even though the right-hander was charged with one more run in the seventh, he still was credited with his second straight quality start. Despite allowing a fair amount of traffic on the basepaths, Bello was relatively efficient in tossing 82 pitches (55 strikes), and he logged his second-longest start of the campaign with 6.1 frames. Bello holds a 3.96 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 37:25 K:BB through 52.1 innings this season, and he's lined up to make his next start at home against the rival Yankees.

Goes 6.1 frames in no-decision

Delivers quality start Tuesday

Bello came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Angels, giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out four. After struggling to complete five innings in a start through most of May, Bello began June with a much sharper outing, tossing 65 of 103 pitches for strikes in his third quality start of the year. The 26-year-old right-hander will carry a 3.91 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 33:24 K:BB through 46 innings into his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Rays.
Doesn't last five frames again

Bello came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Brewers, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out two. It was another abbreviated outing for Bello, who got the hook after 77 pitches (46 strikes). The right-hander has gone five straight starts without being able to complete the fifth inning, posting a 4.84 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and 17:15 K:BB over 22.1 innings during that stretch, and his inability to provide any length or last long enough to quality for a win is making him increasingly difficult to roster even in deep fantasy formats. Bello will try to find some efficiency in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Angels.
Fans seven in inefficient outing

Bello didn't factor into the decision in the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the Orioles, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk over four innings in a 19-5 win. He struck out seven. While the seven Ks were a season high for the right-hander, Bello wasn't particularly efficient and needed 87 pitches (55 strikes) to record 12 outs. He left the mound in line for his second loss of the year until the Boston offense opened the floodgates late. Bello has failed to last five innings in four straight starts, a stretch in which he carries a 5.60 ERA, 2.21 WHIP and 15:13 K:BB over 17.2 innings. He'll look to tighten things up in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Milwaukee.
Struggles with command in loss

Bello (2-1) took the loss against Atlanta on Sunday, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and five walks with three strikeouts over 4.1 innings Bello dealt with constant traffic on the basepaths and managed just 52 strikes on 92 pitches, generating only four whiffs. After allowing only seven earned runs over his first five starts, the 26-year-old has now failed to complete five innings in three consecutive outings. He'll carry a 4.02 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 20:19 K:BB across 31.1 innings into a home matchup with the Orioles next weekend.
Delivers short outing

Bello did not factor in the decision during Tuesday's extra-innings loss to the Tigers. He allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while striking out four. Bello coughed up a run in the first inning and the Tigers plated another on an error in the third. He then served up a solo shot to Spencer Torkelson in the fourth. Bello has failed to complete five innings in back-to-back starts after turning in two consecutive quality starts. He tossed 55 of 92 pitches for strikes and now owns a lackluster 17:14 K:BB through 27 frames. Bello will carry a 2.33 ERA into his next matchup, which is projected to be at home against the Mets.
Goes 4.2 innings vs. Texas

Bello did not factor into the decision Thursday against the Rangers, allowing four hits and five walks across 4.2 scoreless innings. He struck out one. Bello managed to hold the Rangers scoreless despite issuing a season-high five walks. However, he would leave the game in the fifth inning, one out shy of qualifying for the win, after throwing 83 pitches. Overall, Bello is 2-0 with an impressive 2.01 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 13:12 K:BB through his first four starts (22.1 innings) this season. He's currently lined up to face the Tigers on the road in his next outing.
Works into seventh inning Friday

Bello didn't factor into the decision Friday against Minnesota after allowing one run on four hits and one walk in 6.2 innings. He struck out five. After beginning the season on the injured list with a shoulder strain, Bello was able to reach the 100-pitch plateau for the first time in three starts this year. The right-hander also worked into the seventh inning for the first time, yielding a season-low one walk in the process. However, Bello did concede a home run, a third-inning solo shot to Ryan Jeffers, in his third straight outing. Bello will try to reduce the hard contact when he takes a 2.55 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB across 17.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance versus the Rangers, who entered Friday ranked 29th in the majors in runs scored (103).
Logs quality start in win

Bello (2-0) earned the win against the Guardians on Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts over six innings. Bello was given an early lead and ran with it before surrendering a three-run homer in the sixth inning. The 25-year-old threw 61 of 99 pitches for strikes while generating 10 whiffs, turning in his second straight solid effort since returning from the injured list. He owns a 3.27 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 7:6 K:BB across 11 innings and lines up for a home matchup with the Twins next weekend.
